A new addition to the X Series mirrorless digital cameras

FUJIFILM has officially announced its latest compact system camera, the X-T100. The camera from Fuji features a 24.2MP sensor CMOS sensor, automatic scene recognition, a three-way tilting touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity.

The X-T100 weights 448g and is designed as an entry-level model for the X-T range models like the X-T2 and the X-T20. Unlike the other cameras from X-T series, the X-T100 doesn’t feature the advanced X-Trans sensor but instead the CMOS utilizes a traditional Bayer color filter, likely to be the same sensor found in the Fujifilm X-A5.

The X-T100 has an anodized coating, which is available in three colors: Dark Silver, Champagne Gold and Black. Prominent features include a phase-detection auto-focus system, which has a newly developed auto-focus algorithm for faster and more precise focusing. New Bluetooth low-energy technology for quick, easy and automatic transfer of your images to a paired smartphone or tablet, using a free app, which is available for Android or iOS operating systems.

FUJIFILM X-T100 will be sold with a kit electronic zoom lens XC 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 OIS PZ, which can be used for portraits and landscapes and has the capability to shoot from 5cm, making it useful for close-ups of flowers and food, although the body is compatible with the rest of Fujifilm’s 26 X-series lenses with focal lengths from 15mm to 1200mm. The three-way tilting 1,040k-dot TFT color LCD on the back of the camera is with 3.0-inch diagonal. The body also sports a 0.39-inch, 2,360k-dot OLED color viewfinder. Other features include the ability to record 4K video, 11 photo film-simulations including monochrome, monochrome with yellow filter, monochrome with red filter, monochrome with green filter, sepia, Provia and Velvia. An advanced filter mode features 17 options that include high-key, low-key, partial colour, fish-eye and toy camera. The battery is rated at 430 frames per charge. It also has Bluetooth technology to enable image transfer to smart devices.
