FujiFilm XF10

XF10 is the new travel-friendly compact camera from FujiFilm, featuring a 24.2-megapixels APS-C sensor and ƒ2.8/18.5mm fixed focal-length lens, which equals 28mm in the 35mm format. The close-up enthusiasts will find the 10cm close focusing distance as a nice featture along with a 9-bladed diaphragm for attractive art bokeh.

The FujiFilm XF10 also sports an extra digital teleconverter feature, which enables focal lengths equivalent to 35mm and 50mm, at the expense of image resolution when the teleconverter is activated. Key XF10's features include an ISO range 200 to 12,800 (expandable to 100 - 51,200, respectively), a 91-point AF system, 6fps shooting for around 13 JPEGs, a 3inch touchscreen LCD and 4K/Full HD video recording. The buttons and dials on XF10 have been positioned to enable easy operation.

FujiFilm XF10 is Bluetooth compatible and can be connected to smartphones and tablets at all times. Photographed images can be easily and instantaneously transferred automatically, and favorite photographs can be shared immediately through SNS.

The photographers who will find the FujiFilm compact XF10 appealing are travelers and smartphones users who need more matured photo capabilities. The XF10 is very portable, just 112.5x64.4x41mm with weight of approximately 280g.

Another FujiFilm throwback feature is the 11 Film Simulation modes, 19 Advanced Filters including the Rich & Fine and Monochrome [NIR]. The Rich & Fine is Fuji's fancy name for more saturated colours and subtle vignetting, and the company claims it’s particularly suitable for tasty food photography. Monochrome [NIR - Near infrared] seeks to emulate film near infrared camera effects (which you can still get on film). The Instagram fans will appreciate the new touchscreen which enables quick selection of a square (1:1) aspect ratio “SQUARE MODE” by flicking the rear LCD monitor.

The FujiFilm XF10 camera is also equipped with various video recording functions in addition to 4K video recording. The “Multi Focus Mode” creates a clear, sharp picture over a wide range by automatically synthesizing consecutively shot images while changing the area of focus with 4K resolution. The 4K Video Burst function enables you to capture high quality images of definitive moments through the high-speed consecutive shooting of 15 shots per second. The camera is also equipped with the High-Speed HD Video function which enables smooth videos even when playing fast-moving subjects in slow motion.

Overall the XF10 is a simpler, well thought update to the Fuji's X70 compact from few years ago.
